Dental veneers

Also known as dental porcelain veneers and dental porcelain laminates or facades. Dental veneers are custom-made, wafer-thin, shells of tooth-colored porcelain used to improve dental imperfections. The veneers cover the outer front surface of the teeth, making it possible to design an optimized appearance of perfect teeth in color, shape and size. Thanks to their thin design, the light reflection properties are very alike to the one of natural teeth. Veneers can be done on only one tooth or more teeth simultaneously.

Dental veneers can also be made in plastic (bonded veneers), using special esthetic filling material. These bonded plastic veneers can either be made by the dental technician, which then requires the same treatment procedure as for the full ceramic porcelain veneers or they can be made directly on your teeth by the dentist.

Dental Veneers is suitable for patients with:

  • Teeth that are discolored – teeth that for example has turned darker due to root canal treatments or excessive fluoride

  • Teeth that are irregularly shaped, uneven or misaligned

  • Teeth that are broken or chipped

  • Teeth that are worn down

  • Teeth with spaces in between them - to close the gap.

As most treatments with Veneers are made for aesthetic reasons, it is of big importance that the dentist and the patient fully agrees and understands each other. We at ZahnCity always put extra time and effort to make sure that we really understand the patient’s wishes and that the patient fully understands what he/she can expect out of the treatment. To help us with this, we take a photo of your smile and send that to our technicians. The technician will then use a special computer program to create your new improved smile on that photo (Digital imaging). This way you get an idea of how your new smile will look like before we even start the treatment. If it is not good enough we change the plan all together with the technician for a satisfying result.

Before we start we take impressions of your teeth and send them to our dental technicians. The technician makes a wax up of your “new teeth” on the teeth models made from the impressions. On this wax up, rubber guides will be made for the dentist to know exactly how much of the tooth that has to be removed to create enough space for the dental Veneers. That way, we can make sure as little as necessary of your own tooth is being removed.
